Drift Wars was built with intention.
In just a few short months, Drift Wars completely reshaped the energy and growth of our local RC drift scene. What started with just a handful of drivers on Wednesday nights evolved into a full-scale weekly competition series drawing more than 25 drivers every week — and the demand was growing.
The vision behind Drift Wars has always been simple:
Create a format that’s competitive yet approachable, structured yet flexible, and above all — fun.
With 2.0, we’ve taken everything that made Drift Wars special and leveled it up.
We’ve moved away from the old Top 10 format and introduced a points-based system built around double elimination brackets — giving every driver more seat time, more chances to battle, and a fairer way to track performance over time.
Brackets are now generated completely at random through the rcdrift.io app, meaning there are no call-outs, no politics — just clean, competitive battles where every matchup is a new opportunity to learn and improve.
Each week, drivers earn points based on their final placement in the bracket. First place earns the most, but everyone who competes earns points. At the end of the month, totals reset, and the driver with the highest cumulative score is crowned the Drift Wars Top Driver of the Month.
Every monthly point total also contributes to each driver’s overall season standings, building toward the end-of-year title of Drift Wars Driver of the Year — a recognition that rewards consistency, dedication, and performance across all twelve months of competition.
Judges no longer compete in the same event, keeping the playing field fully level. Each battle is evaluated for line, angle, proximity, and style — rewarding clean, controlled tandem driving. Every Wednesday night begins as a clean slate where anyone can step up and prove themselves.
Drift Wars 2.0 is built to push drivers further — not just in competition, but in confidence and community. Newer drivers get real seat time under the lights, while veterans sharpen their edge against fresh competition in an unpredictable, exciting environment.
It's not just another comp — it’s a movement that’s energizing RC drift scenes across Texas and beyond.
Drift Wars 2.0 is now open for partner tracks and event hosts who want to bring this format to their local scene.
If you’re ready to grow your community, foster better drivers, and create something people look forward to every week — let’s make it happen.
